When a kangaroo is born, it's the size of a bean, blind and hairless, and it has to crawl into its mother's pouch. There it will find milk and be safe while it grows. A joey lives in its mother's pouch until it is 10 months old. It's grown too big to carry around.
Kangaroos have long powerful tails that they use for balance. When they are grazing on grass, they sit back on their tails like a third leg. When males kickbox they push up onto their tails and kick both feet forward at their opponent.
Living in the desert, you'd think kangaroos would drink lots of water, but they can go months without drinking any water at all. When the sun is too hot, they take naps in the shade and are active at night.
They also take SPIT BATHS!

Yes, they do.
They lick their fur all over with lots and lots of drool to cool down.
