How to Particpate in
The Sunflower Prize

  1. Print a copy of the entry form and instructions.  
  2. Sprout at least one sunflower seed in a dish lined with filter paper or paper towel.
  3. Observe, collect data, and document your observations in a science journal.
    Data are facts or answers to questions. Click here for some suggestions.  

  4. Mail your journal with entry form to:

Prizes

Everyone Wins and the Earth Does Too!

Your entry will trigger a $50 donation from the African Wildlife Foundation to help protect the elephants of Tanzania. Every student who enters will receive a certificate acknowledging their contribution. In addition, top entries will win cash prizes.
  • Four $100 Prizes for Students
  • Four $25 Prizes for Teachers

Judges will select top entries based on the scope of observation and amount of detail.
