How to Particpate in
The Sunflower Prize
- Sunflower Prize 2009 is an activity for New Mexico students in grades 4-8.
- Call or e-mail Earth’s Birthday Project to request a Sunflower Prize student pack:

info@earthsbirthday.org.
Be sure to give us your name, grade, and complete address. We will mail the kit to you within a few days. The pack includes a petri dish, four sunflower seeds, a simple science journal, and complete instructions. - Sprout at least two sunflower seeds following the instructions in the kit.
- Observe, collect data, and document your observations in the science journal (data are facts or answers to questions).

Judges will select top entries based on the scope of observation, amount of detail and amount of detail recorded, range of data collected, and data analysis. Prizes will be awarded in fall 2009. Sorry! We cannot return your science journal.
