Make Sunflower Streamers

Grades 2 through 6

Materials: Paper Plates (one for each streamer), lots of sunflower seeds, yellow construction paper, petal pattern, green crepe paper streamers, yarn, paint or crayons, scissors, glue

Easy Instructions: Color plates yellow or brown and/or glue sunflower seeds on (in a spiral pattern, similar to the one below, if students are up for it).

Trace (or xerox) petals onto construction paper and cut some out for each flower. Glue petals onto the plates and glue long strands of green crepe paper streamers to the backs. Punch two holes near the top of each flower (through the plate), and loop yarn through holes to make a hanger. Hang sunflowers from trees or porch railings where they can stream in the wind.
