From Knowledge to Action
Adopt an Acre of Rainforest

The Adopt-an-Acre Program
Since 1990, Earth's Birthday Project and The Nature Conservancy have worked together to make sure children have the opportunity to learn about and preserve the Earth's precious rainforests, where many species of butterflies live and thrive.

Over the past nine years, young people have collected pennies, held bake sales, organized plays and art shows, and created other wonderful fundraisers to buy acres of endangered rainforest habitat in Latin America. Through their dedicated work and care for the planet, kids have raised over $5 million and protected over 150,000 acres!

Adopt an acre of rainforest in 4 easy steps
Anyone can participate . . . any amount helps!

In four easy steps, you can make a difference:

1. Choose to Adopt An Acre of the rainforest.

2. Teach your class about the rainforest.

3. Organize a fundraiser - it helps to increase the awareness of others about the rainforest. You'll be doing two things at once to help.

4. Send your contribution to the Earth's Birthday Project. We'll send you an honorary certificate, and include your name on the Adopt An Acre Honor Roll with the network of other schools who participate every year.
