The largest of the Latin American Cats, jaguars hunt mice, birds, tapirs, and monkeys. They are solitary hunters, roaming big territories to find food. Their favorite food in Belize is the armadillo. Jaguars once lived throughout the Americas, from Arizona in the north to Argentina in the south. Hunting and forest clearing have reduced their numbers.
